How to delete your Surfshark account?

Surfshark is a popular VPN service provider. It’s easy to use Surfshark VPN on any of your devices. But deleting your Surfshark account is not straightforward at all. You can’t just click a button and delete your account. 

There’s no option to delete your account from your end. You have to email them saying you want to delete your account, and then one of their representatives will get back to you with the process.

How to delete your Surfshark account?

1. Open the email app on your smartphone or computer. Or visit Gmail on a web browser if you use it. 
2. Compose a new email and enter [email protected] as the recipient address. 
3. In the Subject, write, ‘I want to delete my Surfshark account.’
4. If you want to explain something, write an additional message, and Send the email. 

If you want to delete your account ASAP, you can also contact them via Live Chat and ask them to cancel your subscription so that you won’t be charged in the future. 

How to cancel a Surfshark subscription?

1. Open a web browser on your computer and visit the Surfshark website.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Help center.
3. There are various sections about their product. Scroll and click on Chat with us. A pop-up will appear on your screen.
4. Enter your name, email, and reason why you want to cancel your subscription, and click on Start chat.
5. One of their representatives will connect with you and help you with the process.

This cancelation method only works on a computer. If you bought the subscription using Play Store or App Store, you can cancel the subscription on your own.

Cancel Surfshark subscription on Android

If you subscribe to anything using android, you can cancel them from Play Store. Here’s how:

1. Open the Play Store app on your device.
2. Tap on your profile picture at the top right corner. 
3. Navigate to Payments and subscriptions> Subscriptions.
4. Find Surfshark and click on it.
5. Tap on Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen instructions. 

Cancel Surfshark subscription on iPhone

If you subscribed to Surfshark on your iPhone, you can cancel the subscription from Settings. Here’s how:

1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
2. Tap on your Apple ID username.
3. Tap Subscriptions from the list.
4. Find Surfshark and tap on it.
5. Click on Cancel subscription. 

Uninstalling the app isn’t a solution.

Some people may think that uninstalling the app from their device will cancel the subscription or delete their account. But in reality, it won’t solve any of your problems.

If you uninstall the app from your computer, you must pay recurring fees every month/year unless you go to live chat and ask them to cancel your subscription.

You will still be charged if you uninstall the app from your smartphone but don’t manually cancel the subscription from the App store/Play Store. 

Most subscription-based companies make it harder for users to cancel or delete their accounts. It should be one click process, yet they prefer you to go through the live chat or email so that they can convince you to stay.
