How to add a tag and flair on Reddit?

Using a tag and/or flair on your post is normal on Reddit because it allows others to understand the type of your post. For example, if your post has an NSFW tag, you are telling others not to open the post while working.

Or, if your post has a flair name discussion, that means you want others to speak out about their experiences on your post. To be a good Redditor, you must know the proper usage of tags and flairs. 

Tags and Flairs are not mutually exclusive, which means you can use a tag and a flair in the same post. However, there are only three tags on Reddit, OC, NSFW, and Spoiler. On the other hand, subreddit owners can create flairs according to the type of their subreddits. 

Note: Some subreddits may require adding a flair to submit a post. But the tag is optional because you can submit various posts that don’t fall under any specific tag. 

Add a tag or flair on the Reddit app

1. Open the Reddit app on your smartphone. 
2. Click on Create (+) icon from the center of the bottom bar. 
3. Enter a post title, insert text/link, or upload a picture and click on Next. 
4. Select a subreddit from your joined subreddits list. 
5. Tap on Add tags & flair. 
6. Select NSFW or Spoiler tag if necessary, then select the appropriate flair to indicate your post type. Then tap on Apply.
7. Finally, tap on Post. 

How to add a tag or flair on New Reddit

If you use a computer to access Reddit, then there are two versions of Reddit. The homepage is New Reddit, and Old Reddit is available on old.reddit.com.

1. Open a web browser on your computer, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
2. Enter reddit.com in the address bar and press Enter.
3. Click on the Create Post box on the homepage. 
4. Click on Choose a community and select the subreddit where you want to post something.
5. Enter a title, select the type of content you want to post, and add the post content.
6. Choose the tag if your submission requires any. 
7. Click on Flair and select one of the available flairs. Then, click Apply.
8. Then click on Post to submit your post. 

How to add a tag or flair on Old Reddit

 Old Reddit has a different style than the New Reddit. So, the approach is also different. 

1. Open a web browser on your computer. 
2. Type old.reddit.com in the address bar and press Enter. 
3. Go to the subreddit where you want to submit your post.
4. Click on Submit a new link or Submit a new text post. 
5. Enter the title and post content, select a flair (if available), and click Submit. 
6. Click on NSFW and/or spoiler at the bottom of the post, and click on yes to confirm. 

Make sure to use proper flair and tags. If you use the wrong tags or flair, community members will report your post, and moderators may remove your post altogether.
